📍 PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Montreal Minimalist Skyline project is a modern architectural study in visual simplification and typographic balance. Designed as part of the Montreal Urban Branding Collection, this vector mark distills the city’s iconic landmarks—including the Olympic Stadium, Mount Royal, and downtown high-rises—into a crisp, high-impact graphic identity.
The primary objective was to eliminate unnecessary visual clutter while preserving the instant recognizable silhouette of Montreal’s cityscape, making it an ideal asset for architectural prints, minimalist apparel, and corporate branding.

🛠️ TECHNICAL METHODOLOGY & SOFTWARE EXECUTION
✒️ Architectural Vector Geometry (Adobe Illustrator)
-
Modular Silhouette Grid: Using Adobe Illustrator, I constructed custom vector guides to lock in building heights, window grid proportions, and roof angles.
-
Optical Balance: The curved slope of the Olympic Stadium tower was mathematically counterbalanced against the vertical rhythm of downtown skyscrapers to achieve seamless eye-flow.
-
Line-Weight Calibration: All vector strokes were standardized to maintain visual legibility across both large-scale wall posters and micro digital screens.

🎨 Color Science & Surface Rendering (Adobe Photoshop)
-
Dual Palette System: Engineered in two primary variations—a stark monochrome black-and-white standard for screen printing, and a warm sunset gradient edition for digital displays.
-
Lighting Maps: Applied soft ambient lighting and surface glare maps in Adobe Photoshop to evaluate how the art print reads under natural architectural hallway light.
-
Typographic Hierarchy: Paired with a wide-tracked, bold sans-serif typeface (
MONTREAL) at the baseline to provide a stable, authoritative foundation for the skyline.
