🏷️ Trifold Brochure Architecture & Editorial Publishing In commercial editorial design and higher education marketing, a print collateral piece must function as a compelling brand experience and a structured information system. This case study details the complete end-to-end design and prepress workflow for the Graphic & Web Design Program Trifold Brochure, demonstrating multi-column grid engineering, original studio photography, advanced color retouching, and complex typography management across a 6-panel layout.
The core objective was to architect a high-impact, 6-panel trifold brochure—spanning the front cover, interior panels, course curriculum planner, and contact back cover—that converts prospective students by balancing dense program data with a clean agency visual identity.

🔷 Editorial Layout & Multipage Spreads (Adobe InDesign): The entire structural arrangement, baseline grid alignment, and 6-panel panel distribution were executed inside Adobe InDesign. Master pages were established alongside paragraph and character style hierarchies to manage title sizes, subtitles, body copy, and logo placements. Strict Hyphenation & Justification (H&J) controls were applied to streamline dense text blocks and maintain readable line lengths across all 6 panels.

🧗 Technical Challenges & Design Obstacles:
-
🧩 Dense Information Architecture Across 6 Panels: Organizing a full multi-semester curriculum, course codes, technical skill sets, and software requirements into a 6-panel canvas without causing visual clutter.
-
📸 Original Studio Photography & Asset Selection: Sourcing and capturing authentic high-resolution imagery using a professional Sony camera to replace generic stock, ensuring the visuals genuinely reflect the studio environment.
-
👁️ Visual Balance & Enrollment Engagement: Curating compelling visual assets alongside structured content to engage prospective students and encourage college program enrollment.

✍️ Vector Surgery & Pattern Layout (Adobe Illustrator): The signature background pattern—built from alternating, condensed sans-serif monogram letterforms reading “GWD”—was developed in Adobe Illustrator. Vector alignment rules and opacity variations were utilized to create texture and depth behind headline text without compromising legibility.

📷 Original Sony Photography, Photoshop Retouching & Color Grading: Custom studio shots were captured with a Sony camera and imported into Adobe Photoshop for precise editing. Photorealistic adjustments included custom cropping, tonal curve calibration, selective color correction, and vibrance enhancements. Solid dark gradient overlay fills and subtle background tint layers were positioned behind body text zones to ensure 100% text sharpness over photographic borders.

📐 Print Specifications:
