📍 PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Montreal Heraldic Cultural Crest bridges classical civic heritage with contemporary brand design. Inspired by the municipal flag cross and traditional European heraldry, this emblem unifies Montreal’s historic roots, sports culture, and architectural landmarks into a regal four-quadrant shield.

Featuring the Fleur-de-lis, the civic crown, Saint Joseph’s Oratory, the Biosphere, and the iconic Montreal Canadiens sports emblem, this case study explores symmetrical branding for luxury goods, ceramics, and athletic apparel.

🛠️ TECHNICAL METHODOLOGY & SOFTWARE EXECUTION
✒️ Symmetrical Shield Construction (Adobe Illustrator)
-
Four-Quadrant Symmetry: Engineered using mirror-grid symmetry in Adobe Illustrator, locking the municipal cross as the primary structural anchor.
-
Cultural Symbol Integration: Each quadrant icon was sculpted with matching geometric corner radii and line thickness, ensuring modern logos (like the CH emblem) harmonize with classical heraldic symbols.
-
Framing Dynamics: Enclosed within a dual-leaf laurel wreath and topped with a civic crown to elevate brand prestige.

🎨 Material Physics & Color Hierarchy (Adobe Photoshop)
-
Regal Color Palette: Combined Crimson Red, Royal Blue, Forest Green, and Gold accents alongside a high-contrast monochrome vector variant.
-
3D Ceramic & Metal Compositing: In Adobe Photoshop, I applied specular highlights, glare maps, and metallic surface textures to simulate application on ceramic coffee mugs, metallic plaques, and varsity jackets.
-
Contrast Layering: Fine-tuned exposure curves to ensure dark navy blue and rich crimson red elements maintain crisp separation.
