📍 PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Montreal Dynamic Circular Badge is a complex emblem designed to encapsulate Montreal’s architecture, geography, and cultural spirit within a unified circular frame. Incorporating La Grande Roue (the iconic Ferris wheel), the Biosphere dome, downtown skyscrapers, and Saint Lawrence River waves, this badge demonstrates high-density vector layout control.

Engineered specifically for embroidered patches, athletic apparel, and merchandise packaging, this design balances intricacy with functional production standards.

🛠️ TECHNICAL METHODOLOGY & SOFTWARE EXECUTION

✒️ Concentric Grid Architecture (Adobe Illustrator)

  • Concentric Vector Layout: Built inside Adobe Illustrator using precision circular grids to divide internal elements into harmonious focal zones.

  • Micro-Detail Line Weight: The geometric triangles of the Biosphere dome and the structural spokes of the Ferris wheel were calibrated with unified stroke weights to prevent line bleeding during physical production.

  • Dynamic Wave Vectors: The baseline river waves were engineered with smooth Bezier curves to introduce fluid motion to an otherwise rigid architectural composition.

🎨 Fabric & Texture Simulation (Adobe Photoshop)

  • Embroidered Shading Maps: Using Adobe Photoshop, I mapped realistic thread-density textures, raised stitch shadows, and fabric displacement to test physical embroidery viability.

  • Maritime Palette: Formulated a rich color scheme featuring deep navy blue, sky blue, and crisp white to evoke a maritime, island-city aesthetic.

  • Physical Mockups: Composited onto heavy-cotton tote bags, caps, and outerwear to validate commercial appeal.
